NGC 2967 Pretty bright, pretty large, much brighter in the middle, round at 220X.

NGC 2969 Very faint, pretty small, round, little brighter in the middle at 100X.

NGC 2974 Pretty bright, pretty small, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 90, somewhat brighter in the middle, a 10th mag star is in contact with the west side at 165X.

NGC 2978 Faint, pretty small, round and not brighter in the middle at 100X.

NGC 2979 Pretty faint, pretty small, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 0, with a bright middle at 100X.

NGC 2980 Faint, pretty small, little elongated (1.2 X 1) in PA 135 and little brighter in the middle at 100X.

NGC 2990 Pretty bright, pretty large, bright middle, elongated 1.8 X 1 in PA 90 at 220X.

NGC 3015 Faint, small, round, very little brighter in the middle at 150X.

NGC 3018 very difficult. Very faint and round at 150X on a 7/10 night at Sentinel with hood.

NGC 3023 Faint, pretty small, round, somewhat brighter in the middle, not much at 100X. Same night at 3018.

NGC 3035 Faint, pretty large, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 135 and somewhat brighter in the middle at 100X.

NGC 3042 Pretty faint, small, much elongated 3X1 in PA 90, bright middle with almost stellar nucleus. This is with 13" at 150X and monk's hood on 7/10 night at Sentinel.

NGC 3044 Pretty faint, pretty large, somewhat brighter in the middle, elongated 2.5 X 1 in PA 120 at 220X.

NGC 3055 Pretty bright, pretty large, brighter in the middle, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 60 at 165X.

NGC 3115 Bright, large, very much elongated 4 X 1 in PA 45, much brighter in the middle at 135X. It is just seen in the 11 X 80 finder. The center is a bright envelope that has an oval, very bright nucleus, all of which at elongated in the same PA as the main body of the galaxy.

100X bright, large, very much elongated 6X1 in PA 35, suddenly much brighter middle, bright core.
220X great view of high surface brightness galaxy, core is elongated 3X1 in same PA as rest of object.

NGC 3156 Pretty faint, pretty small, brighter middle at 100X.

NGC 3165 Faint, pretty small, round, not much at 100X.

NGC 3166 Bright, pretty large, round and much brighter in the middle at 100X. Brightest in a chain of 4 galaxies from NE to SW.

NGC 3169 Pretty bright, pretty large, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 45 and much brighter in the middle at 100X.

NGC 3360 Very faint, pretty small, round, not much at 100X.

NGC 3361 Pretty faint, pretty large, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 100, and not brighter in the middle at 220X.

NGC 3423 Pretty bright, large, round, much brighter in the middle and quite mottled at 220X. Averted vision makes this face-on galaxy grow in size.

UGC 5373 is the Sextans B Dwarf galaxy. Faint, pretty large, elongated 2 X 1 in PA 100 and not much brighter in the middle at 100X. At the lower power it is somewhat mottled, but going to 220X raises the contrast with the background, makes the surface very mottled and brings out several stars involved
within this galaxy.

PAL 3 Extremely faint, pretty small, not brighter in the middle at 100X. This is on a night I rated 7/10 for contrast. Thumping the tube helped me detect this low surface brightness object.

Double Stars in Sextans

9 SEX Wide split at 100X, nice orange and light blue

Aitken 1767 Tough to divide at 270X, notched most of the time and split about 20% of the time in good seeing, both light yellow.

Struve 1441 Split at 135X, yellow and blue.

35 SEX Split at 100X, both yellow.

40 SEX Just split at 100X, better at 165X, both white.
